As a pioneer ultrabook, Intel re-innovate by creating a hybrid device which "blends" and ultrabook tablet functions.
Intel Cove Point, the name of the device. Intel exhibited at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Beijing China, mid-April 2012. Display device is running the operating system Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
"This is an evolution over time. Ultrabook was never intended for the same design," said Gary Richman, Director of Marketing for Intel's client PC Solutions Division.
If the Cove Point is opened it will look like ultrabook, and if closed would like a tablet. Besides combining functionality and ultrabook tablet, Cove Point is also claimed as an environmentally friendly product. The battery can last up to 9 hours.
Cove Point seems inspired by the design of Android tablet, Asus Prime Transformer, which is accompanied by a keyboard dock. Nevertheless, the Cove Point has a more capable hardware specs and bigger screen.
Cove Point will be equipped with the latest generation of Intel processors Ivy Bridge, 12.5-inch wide touch screen, and there is a USB 3.0 port and HDMI port.
Intel estimates that the parties, Cove Point akah later valued at about U.S. $ 1,000 and no further information at Cove Point beginning to be adopted by the vendor.
