Heinrich Rudolf Hertz was born February 22, 1857, he was a German physicist who discovered electromagnetic strengthen Maxwell theory.

Rudolf Hertz was the first to successfully prove the existence of electromagnetic waves by building apparatus to produce and detect radio waves.

Rudolf Hertz died January 1, 1894, his name immortalized as the frequency unit hertz (Hz) as we know it today.

Today, February 22, 2012, marking 155 years since the birth of Rudolf Hertz who is commemorated by Google to make it as a Google Doodle logo today.
