Research in Motion (RIM) claims that their product, BlackBerry, will grow very rapidly in Asia Pacific. Market growth is forecast to exceed the BlackBerry smartphone market, such as Android and the iPhone in 2015.
"Based on the IDC survey, the BlackBerry will grow more rapidly than the growth of the smartphone market in Asia Pacific in 2015," said East Asia Regional Managing Director of RIM, Gregory Wade, the BlackBerry Devcon Asia 2011 in Singapore, Wednesday (07/12/2011).
According to Wade, the BlackBerry smartphone is still the number one in several countries in Asia, like Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines. Assumption which states that BlackBerry sales decline was not correct.
Currently, according to RIM, BlackBerry users increased by 20 million people compared to last year. Wade also said it will focus more on Asia.
Vendors from Canada, North America, it will also penetrated Asia through activities that are academic, such as working together with universities in Asia.
Forecast sales will decline in future BlackBerry comes with the development of Android phone made by Google. If the previous BlackBerry's toughest rival is Apple, RIM now have to think of strategies to beat the predicted Android controls 50 percent market share in 2012.
